House of Ruth Maryland Invites You To Attend
The 22nd Annual Spring Luncheon
Spring Luncheon is House of Ruth Maryland’s signature event designed to bring together our supporters to discuss issues related to intimate partner violence in our communities. Guests will hear from keynote speaker, Rachael Denhollander, an advocate and educator who became known internationally as the first woman to file a police report and speak publicly against Larry Nassar, one of the most prolific sexual abusers in recorded history. As a result of her activism, over 250 women came forward as survivors of Nassar’s abuse, leading to his life imprisonment. House of Ruth Maryland will share ways to help victims of intimate partner violence and give examples of how your generous support and donations contribute to the live-saving services House of Ruth Maryland provides.
All proceeds from Spring Luncheon go directly to fund House of Ruth Maryland programs and services.

Hosts
Megan Knight & Randall Newsome – WMAR-2 News
Megan Knight is a local, born and raised in Ellicott City. When she was in high school, she would watch Jamie Costello on Good Morning Maryland before class. She interned with Kelly Swoope in college. Little did she know her career would wind up at the T.V. station she grew up watching. Megan moved away for a bit to go to school at Syracuse University and work in Utica N.Y. as a producer, reporter and morning anchor. Now, she is a co-anchor on the morning show she first started watching as a teen. Megan also covers feel-good stories in the community, highlighting those who are making a difference to others.
Randall Newsome is a native Texan, born in Houston and raised in Fort Worth. His journey into journalism started when he was a student-athlete in high school and eventually Texas Southern University. He always loved the art of storytelling and thought that might lead him down the path of being a sports anchor/reporter. In 2016, after getting his graduate degree from the University of Southern California with a specialty in sports journalism and breaking into the business at KTVE in West Monroe, Louisiana. He realized he might be made for something else. He discovered a knack for telling stories of all kinds and a gift for interviewing and interacting with people whether it was in the field as a reporter or in the studio as a host or anchor. In the studio, he brings a unique energy.
